VOWS Mental Health Awareness Month Fireside Chat: “The True Story of a Soldier and Mental Health”

Presented by Veterans on Wall Street and the Bob Woodruff Foundation

In honor of recognizing Mental Health Awareness, Veterans on Wall Street (VOWS), Women Veterans on Wall Street (wVOWS) and the Bob Woodruff Foundation are pleased to announce an exclusive Mental Health Awareness Month Fireside Chat: “The True Story of a Soldier and Mental Health”.

Sometimes when we speak of mental health, including Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, we think of it as a very individual struggle for a veteran. However, we can fail to understand the ripple effects that mental health has outside the individual, at home with family, as well as the impact it has on their career. Furthermore, it is possible that an organization’s culture may be impacted broadly by mental health, causing a cascade effect on its people. This fireside chat is intended to address these issues and bring to light the true story of COL (Ret.) Robert Robison and his professional and personal experience with mental health, as well as the expertise of Dr. Alan Peterson of STRONG STAR Consortium, a Bob Woodruff Foundation grantee.

Speakers include:

  • COL (Ret.) Robert Robinson, US Army
  • Dr. Alan Peterson, PhD, ABPP, Director, STRONG STAR Consortium
  • Marshall Lauck, Chief Growth Officer, Bob Woodruff Foundation
