Silent Auction: ‘Portrait of a Woman’ Reprint

Following the reception at the wVOWS "Female Veterans mentoring, personal branding, and valuable learnings panel", the metal reprint of "Portrait of a Woman" was unveiled. The original is currently displayed at the Women in Military Service for America Memorial in Arlington, VA and was priced at $45,000.00 (for more details view the artist's website).

This reprint was generously donated by the artist, Steve Alpert and the funds being raised from this silent auction will support the Bob Woodruff Foundation on behalf of wVOWS.

Steve Alpert

A native New Yorker, Steve Alpert has been painting for more than forty-five years.  Mr. Alpert’s landscape, portrait and military paintings are represented by fine art galleries all over the U.S.

Alpert’s triptych, “Portrait of a Woman” was exhibited in the home of the Vice-President at the Naval Observatory during the 2015 holiday season before being unveiled at the Women in Military Service for America Museum at Arlington National Cemetery.  Mr. Alpert’s paintings are part of the permanent collections of; The Museum of the United States Marine Corps, Quantico VA, The Pentagon, the Air Mobility Command Museum, Dover AFB, Dover, DE, and the Naval War College Museum, Newport, RI.  Alpert's series of seven large paintings, “Full Honors” depicting the progression of a Full Honors funeral ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery will be on display at the Pentagon beginning in June 2018 for one year. 

The triptych, “Portrait of a Woman,” (3) 40”x30,” depicts a female soldier seen from three directions in the same moment -- both profiles and from the back as she salutes the flag.
