The second annual Veterans on Wall Street (VOWS) conference will be held on June 21, 2012, at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City. In addition, like the inaugural conference in 2011, a job fair will be held in conjunction with the conference and in partnership with the United States Chamber of Commerce. The job fair will be held across the street from Cipriani in the Atrium of 60 Wall Street from 8:00am-2:00pm.
The Veterans on Wall Street conference brings together the very best of Wall Street to support and honor our service members of the United States Armed Forces, convening global financial services institutions, industry participants, transitioning service members, recent veterans and their families, military and government leaders, military support organizations and others who have a shared interest in veterans employment opportunities.
The goals of the conference are to raise awareness of the value of veterans in the workforce, provide transitioning skills workshops to local servicemen and women and their families, and to share best practices regarding veteran recruitment among corporate, investing and banking institutions.
The consortium of VOWS founding banks includes Bank of America, Citi, Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank and Goldman Sachs. The conference is sponsored entirely by the participating banks; attendance is free of charge, and additional contributions raised will be donated to a group of established, national veterans-focused charitable organizations.
In addition, Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. (KKR), through its Vets@Work program, will once again join the VOWS consortium as an additional sponsor, supporting both the conference and the aforementioned charitable organizations.
