Fifth Annual Veterans on Wall Streetâ„¢ Symposium and Resource Fair to be held on November 10, 2015

NEW YORK -- Veterans on Wall Street (VOWS), a consortium of more than 50 financial services firms including Citi, Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs and HSBC, today announced that the fifth annual Veteran Employment Symposium and Resource Fair will be held on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at Goldman Sachs’ headquarters in New York City.

The annual conference aims to raise awareness of the value of veterans in the civilian workforce, offers workshops to transitioning service members and their families, and is an opportunity to share best practices regarding veteran employment matters among institutions across all industries in North America. The 2015 Symposium will once again bring together corporate representatives across all industries, transitioning service members and their families, military and government leaders, veterans support organizations and others who have a shared interest in veterans’ employment issues. Key details are as follows:

Event 2015 VOWS Veteran Employment Symposium & Resource Fair

Date: November 10, 2015

Time: 7:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Location: Goldman Sachs Conference Center, 200 West Street, New York, NY 10282

Agenda: Morning Veteran Symposium (7:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.): Provide veterans and their spouses with information and best practices to assist with their transition from the military to civilian life. Resources include a professional resume review (provided at no cost) and networking lunch.  

“Hiring our Heroes” Job Fair (12:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.): As part of “Hiring our Heroes,” a nationwide effort to help veterans and their spouses find employment, participants will have the opportunity to network with employers and learn about transition opportunities.

Afternoon Corporate Symposium (12:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.): Designed to convene members of the corporate community to address the most critical issues related to the hiring and integration of veterans into the civilian workforce. 

Conference speakers: Ash Carter, Secretary of Defense, will serve as the keynote speaker and a lineup of senior military and business leaders will share their own unique perspectives on veterans in the workplace. Additional featured speakers and presenters to be announced in coming weeks.

Additional information: Attendance is free of charge, although seating is limited.
